| Welcome to the Meet Max Hauser Blog. Max is a lovable and playful German Shepard. This portion of our web site is devoted to Max and his journey through life. |
 | Max Hauser came into this world... |
Max Hauser came into this world on October 5th, 2011. His parents are Brock & Kookie. Max was 1 of 2 males in his litter. He lived in El Cajon with his parents, litter mates, and 4 boys for the first 10 weeks of his life. At 4 weeks old Max's future human family chose him because of his prance when he walked. |

 | Max's Parents |
Kookie & Brock are the proud parents of Max Hauser. Max’s coloring is a combination of both parents; a mixture of black, tan & gray. |

Who couldn’t love that sweet face! At 10 weeks Max now lives in North San Diego County on 2 acres of land with his new human family. Welcome Home Max! |
|
 | Max goes home! |
At 11 weeks & 15 pounds Max Hauser has had his 1st visit to the veterinarian to start his series of puppy shots. Max lives in an area where coyotes are prominent. Dr. Rick says Max needs to be 45 pounds before he can be on his own outdoors. In the meantime Max’s human family is keeping a close eye on him. |

 | Max wants his toy |
Good luck little Max Hauser if you think you can retrieve your favorite toy from 80+ pound Gus. He may just sit on you! |
|
 | Success! |
2 weeks later Young Max Hauser is celebrating the Holiday Season with his favorite toy, and Gus is nowhere in sight. |
|
 | Max's first road trip |
Holidays mean traveling to celebrate the season with family & friends. Max Hauser’s 1st road trip was to Arizona. He handled the 6 hour journey well, as he had a choice of two laps to sit in and plenty of toys. It was an exciting trip while traveling the freeway Max’s human family stopped to help 2 little dogs trying to cross the freeway. Once at his extended family’s home in Arizona little Max could relax in his bed in the backyard, and once again be the center of attention. |
|
 | Max is learning |
Young Max Hauser enjoys walks & exploring the area close to home. The local cacti are very interesting, but sniffing is not encouraged. Max hopes to train his human family soon that pulling on the leash, chasing birds, and going wherever his nose takes him is OK. Training is in someone’s future. |
|
 | Max goes camping |
After a successful road trip to Arizona, Max Hauser was ready to explore the local campsites in San Diego County. Max’s 1st camping trip was to Dos Picos in Ramona, where he discovered a fun hiking trail and he particularly enjoyed watching fellow campers stroll by his campsite. Young Max is learning the importance of following rules & says to fellow canines: “Always wear your leash when camping for safe fun!” |
|
 | A milestone for Max |
Young Max Hauser has reached yet another milestone in his life; he was neutered and had his dew claws removed from his hind paws. His human family choose a soft cone with reflexive edging for Max’s comfort & safety. He handled the surgery fine and was soon ready to play. |
|
 | Max and his cone |
Max Hauser’s human family soon learned the soft cone did not protect Max from himself. After Dr. Rick inserted surgical staples to replace the missing stitches on Max’s hind paws, Max was switched to a traditional plastic cone. Young Max may look like a canine angel inside his plastic cone, but his human family begs to differ. |
|
 | Valentine’s Day |
Happy Valentine’s Day from Max Hauser. Young Max has a secret admirer who has adorned his picture for Valentine’s Day. A Valentine treat would be more to Max taste. |
|
 | Puppy Boot Camp |
It’s off to Puppy Boot Camp for Young Max Hauser! He will stay at the training facility for 2 weeks to learn basic commands such as heel, sit, stay, down, come, bed and his human families’ favorites: off & leave it! |
|
 | Boot camp progress |
Max Hauser has received first-rate reports from Puppy Boot Camp! He has an awesome bed command & has been learning off leash obedience. German Sheppard’s are a working breed so Max enjoys his training. Focusing on his trainer’s commands Max cocks his head to bestow his full attention. The next step in Young Max’s training is his human family; they need to be taught the commands & be consistent with his training (that’s the hard part!). |
|
 | Max goes camping |
Max Hauser enjoys the spacious camp sites at scenic Lake Morena County Park. There are many shiny trucks the Rangers drive in around the park. His training continues as his human family takes him hiking by the lake and walking through the campground. Young Max had an unfortunate tussle with 2 un-tethered dogs in the campground which caused his human mom to put Animal Control on speed dial. Max asks canines & humans alike to follow the rules & make sure your dog is secure on a 6’ leash for everyone’s safety & fun. |
